Urban Outdoor Fashion Trend 2010

Friedrichshafen, Germany. ‘Urban outdoor’ is the name of the new fashion style that is filling outdoor retail coffers, as well as an increasing number display windows in pedestrian shopping malls around the world. European OutDoor, the world’s leading outdoor industry trade fair, to be held in Friedrichshafen from 15 to 18 July 2010, will take this trend as an opportunity to offer clothing and footwear stockists a special day dedicated to urban outdoor fashion. On Fashion Sunday (18 July), the exclusive ‘Urban Outdoor Style’ fashion show will be held and information on the theme will be presented.

The outdoor look has long been a feature of urban living. In fact, it’s part of the lifestyle of many city dwellers. Whether at work or at play, more and more people are wearing practical outdoor jackets, comfortable trousers and sporty shoes. After all, outdoor clothing products are both highly fashionable and superbly functional - and their labels are hot!
At the 17th edition of OutDoor in Friedrichshafen, 868 exhibitors from 39 countries - including all the top clothing and footwear brands - will present the latest trends for the coming season on an exhibition floor of 85,000 sq m (8.5 hectares).

As part of Fashion Sunday on 18 July, Dr. Eike Wenzel of the Zukunftsinstitut will offer insights into the booming outdoor market at 11:30 a.m. in the Berlin Room of the new Conference Centre East. The Urban Outdoor fashion show itself,presented by Sportswear International, will then take place at 12:30 p.m. in the Berlin Room and showcase the outdoor fashion trends of tomorrow.
